About us
Popasul Moldovencei is a kitchen in Iași where everything is cooked from scratch, every morning. We don't reheat, we don't use ready-made bases, and we don't cook on Friday for Monday.

Who cooks
The day starts early in the kitchen. The soup goes on the stove, the main course is prepared, and by midday everything leaves warm for whoever ordered it. We don't cook ahead and we don't keep food from one day to the next.
We cook Moldavian food the way it's cooked at home: simple recipes, made patiently and without shortcuts. Customers tell us it reminds them of home cooking — for us, that's the confirmation it's worth doing this way.
No additives, for real
“No additives” isn't a label slogan. It means we don't use flavour enhancers, colourings or preservatives to make up for rushed cooking. The taste comes from what goes into the pot and the time it spends on the stove.
Natural ingredients means fresh meat and vegetables, bought often and in small quantities, not frozen weeks in advance. The soup is made the same day it reaches you, and so is the main course.
That means someone has to be in the kitchen early, rather than pulling stock out of a freezer. It's also why the menu changes daily: we cook what's fresh that morning, not what was left over.
We restock often and in small quantities, so nothing sits around. Whatever arrives in the kitchen in the morning is checked before it goes into the pot, and anything that doesn't look right isn't cooked.
